Five international winners were crowned as 25 riders from 11 regions competed over three days and organisers confirmed the Show’s return in 2027.
The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show 2026 (LHKIHS) closed a standout second year, welcoming guests from around the world. Across five CSI5* classes, the Show hosted 25 outstanding international riders who between them competed on 45 horses. Beyond the arena, visitors enjoyed a curated programme of entertainment, dining, fashion, and family‑friendly experiences—reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a must‑stop on the global equestrian calendar.
Building on the success of its debut, the 2026 programme broadened its scope with a world‑class international field—over 60 horses flown in—and a schedule designed to engage both dedicated fans and new audiences. Highlights of the Show included THE LONGINES WELCOME STAKES that brought the Show a winner from Germany in Hans-Dieter Dreher with horse partner Cous Cous 3. The winner of Saturday’s THE LONGINES STAKES was Kevin Staut from France with horse partner Kannonqulan. THE CATHAY CARGO REACH FOR THE SKIES STAKES was dominated by Germany’s Richard Vogel with horse partner Phenyo van het Keysersbos, and the same pair triumphed again by taking THE ASIAWORLD-EXPO SPEED STAKES, making it a sensational double win for the German rider. The biggest competition, THE LONGINES GRAND PRIX on Sunday was a perfect finale to the Show, with France’s Roger Yves Bost and his incredible horse partner Ballerine du Vilpion winning the top spot.
Richard Ireland, CEO of Clarion Events Asia Pte Ltd, the event organiser of the Show said, “The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show 2026 has been a memorable occasion that reflects the region’s growing passion for equestrian sport and lifestyle. We’ve welcomed attendees from across the region to gather in our international city here in Hong Kong—attracting the equestrian community, sports lovers, families, and event‑goers alike. This year marked an exciting new chapter with the introduction of a strategic partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club—an organisation whose legacy in equestrian sport and horsemanship has been instrumental in shaping the sport in the region. Thanks to our committed partners, including Longines, Cathay Cargo, AsiaWorld-Expo, Airport Authority Hong Kong, the Equestrian Federation of Hong Kong, China, and many more, we’re energised by the positive response from spectators and participants, and we are firmly committed to next year’s edition. Planning is already underway to make it even stronger and to cement this Show as a long‑standing fixture on Hong Kong’s sports calendar.”
Simon Brooks-Ward, Chairman of HPower Group, who have provided sports and equestrian management for the Show, added, “The level of competition this year was phenomenal, and the atmosphere was electric. We are particularly proud of the diverse programme that catered to all ages, from the thrilling Grand Prix to the electrifying Shetland Ponies, the outstanding dog agility and the vibrant Lifestyle Village. We look forward to building on this momentum for the next edition.”
Alongside the showjumping classes the audience was entertained by the highly anticipated Airport Authority Hong Kong presents: Hong Kong Dog Agility competition with fast-paced action, incredible handler-dog teamwork, and moments of pure joy. Pint-sized jockeys in the Shetland Pony Grand National stole the show, while the spotlight shifted from horses to humans for The Horsemen, a three-man French team that tackled equestrian-style obstacles themselves—leaping, vaulting, and moving through the arena with athletic precision and playful flair.
The excitement was further amplified by a special guest performance from local star Ian Chan of MIRROR, whose musical interlude brought a moment of contemporary glamour to the arena.
A weekend full of fashion, food, and family fun
Beyond the arena, the Lifestyle Shopping Village welcomed visitors to indulge in a diverse range of experiences, offering curated activities tailored to every type of visitor.
The show also celebrated the Year of the Horse with the Ride the Future: Wishes for the Year of the Horse interactive installation where guests could create digital horse artwork and share their wishes for the new year. Shopping enthusiasts were able to browse offerings from brands that spanned across equestrian gear, fashion, F&B, interior design and more. The Fashion Runway featured the ‘Riding in Style: Kids & Adults Fashion Show,’ alongside the charming Dog Fashion Show by PET-A-HOOD, which saw adorable pups parade in creative costumes.
For those looking to unwind, the Champagne Taittinger Bar presented by Cathay Cargo provided a stylish setting, while the Lan Kwai Fong Group: Ride the Rhythm kept the energy high on Friday and Saturday evenings. Family fun was a major draw at the Kids Zone, which hosted Hong Kong’s first LeMieux Hobby Horse Competition.
