Immerse in an interactive multi-sensory ArtTech experience, presented by XCEPT, in collaboration with international artist Daito Manabe, accompanied by live performances by Chris Cheung (h0nh1m).
FutureScope, Hong Kong’s first large-scale art dome, launches with its debut, immersive multi-sensory experience, Perpetual Records, at Kai Tak this December. Conceptualised by Hong Kong media artist Chris Cheung (h0nh1m) with his innovative studio XCEPT, and in collaboration with renowned Japanese artist Daito Manabe, this transformative experience kicks off FutureScope’s three-chapter journey. The debut experience merges interactive facial recognition technology and immersive soundscapes, inviting audiences to co-create a poetic world of geometrics. This experience is open to the public from 19 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 at Dream by the Sea, Kai Tak Sports Park (outside Kai Tak Stadium Gate B), with ticketed performances on select dates.
A collective universe co-created with FutureScope visitors
Envisioned by Hong Kong art collective XCEPT, Perpetual Records (ft. Daito Manabe) transports visitors into a captivating 360° environment, immersing them in an ever-evolving crystalline universe that mesmerises and inspires. Drawing inspiration from the Akashic Records, a conceptual metaphysical archive of all human experiences, Perpetual Records brings spirituality to life through advanced data processing technology. By scanning and translating visitor’s faces into geometric patterns, the visual elements within the art dome transform with each unique facial feature, giving a personalised experience for participants.
Through shared moments of audience participation, a sense of connection is created that goes beyond the self. Each visitor becomes part of a collective experience, where interactions subtly shape the evolving visuals and atmosphere. This dynamic exchange forms a digital ecosystem where each participant contributes to the artwork’s continuous transformation. Perpetual Recordsinvites the visitors not just to observe, but to co-create in this public artwork, turning passive perception into active involvement.
Daito Manabe’s soundscape and live performances by Chris Cheung (h0nh1m)
Designed by Daito Manabe, the soundscape of Perpetual Records is an experimental composition of white noise and electric sound, created to shift and evolve in direct response to the visitor’s facial movements.
For a premium experience, scheduled ticketed performances offer exclusive live encounters where visitors become an integral part of the artwork. With limited tickets available for each session, the 30 minute-experience comprises five scenes to immerse in. Under the direction of Artistic Director at XCEPT, Chris Cheung (h0nh1m), these sessions transform the experience into a dynamic performance space. An orchestrated audio-visual live performance by Chris Cheung will follow with audience-reactive facial recognition technology to transform the space in real-time. This creates a unique, unrepeatable multi-sensory experience where every participant contributes to the evolving artwork.
Perpetual Records transforms FutureScope into a continuously evolving artwork that blurs the boundaries between individual and collective experiences. This is a rare opportunity to participate in a shared artistic journey that is both personal and profoundly communal.
