The Hong Kong eVTOL Industry Association will host the Low Altitude Forum 2025: Shaping the Future of eVTOL on 4 December 2025 at Hong Kong Science Park.
This inaugural forum – the first ever in Hong Kong dedicated to electric vertical take‑off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and the wider low‑altitude economy – will bring together government officials, global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), industry leaders and academic researchers to accelerate real‑world deployment through technical insight, regulatory dialogue and public–private collaboration.
Professor Steven Wang, Associate Vice‑President (Resources Planning) and Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, and representative of The Hong Kong eVTOL Industry Association, said, “The low-altitude economy is ready for take-off, poised to transform urban mobility and connectivity. Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area form the perfect launchpad, blending global innovation with local expertise and progressive regulation. This forum will serve as a catalyst, uniting OEMs, regulators, researchers, and operators to co-create safe, sustainable, and scalable solutions for urban air mobility.”
The one‑day forum will feature high‑level plenaries and panel sessions addressing market entry strategies, regulatory sandboxes, critical infrastructure (UTM, 5G/6G, cybersecurity, etc.), technology differentiators (AI navigation, battery systems, noise mitigation, etc.) and sustainable lifecycle practices. Delegates will examine pathways to safe, scalable and commercially viable urban air mobility (UAM) across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
Distinguished guests, speakers and panellists include Edmond Lai, Chief Digital Officer, Hong Kong Productivity Council; Andy Wong, Head of Innovation & Technology and Life & Health Sciences, InvestHK; Emerson Xu, Co-Founder and CEO, NexAvian Pte Ltd; Joel Goh, Head of Business Development, Eve Air Mobility; Jiang Jun, Co-founder and CMO, TCab Technology Co., Ltd.; Michael Sheng, Vice President, Vertaxi; Ir Carmen Chu, Chairperson, Transport Policy Committee; Richard Fung, Director, Fruit Design and Build Limited; Edward Sung, Senior Manager, Solution Planning and Business Analysis, Enterprise Market, HTHK; Ir Y.K. Leung, Managing Director, Linken Capital Aviation Services Limited. The panels will be moderated by Gloria Lee, CEO of Ascendo Group Limited.
Join leading academics from Hong Kong’s top universities as they chart the future of urban air mobility. Their presentations will explore groundbreaking progress in navigation, seamless sensor integration, and revolutionary design approaches—all dedicated to mastering the essential balance between precision and efficiency for the next generation of flight.
Programmes highlights:
Session One
Panel One: Unlocking the low-altitude economy in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area: Opportunities for Global OEMs The low‑altitude economy – encompassing UAVs, eVTOLs and urban air mobility – is ready to ascend, and GBA is positioning itself as a global testbed. Densely urbanised markets, advanced manufacturing capabilities and strong public-sector support make the GBA an attractive launchpad for new services. This session will move beyond conceptual debate to practical strategy, examining how global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) can enter and shape the market, form strategic partnerships, and capture first‑mover advantages across regulatory, infrastructure and commercial dimensions. Speakers: – Emerson Xu, Co-Founder and CEO, NexAvian Pte Ltd – Joel Goh, Head of Business Development, Eve Air Mobility – Jiang Jun, Co-founder and CMO, TCab Technology Co., Ltd. – Michael Sheng, Vice President, Vertaxi Moderator: – Gloria Lee, CEO of Ascendo Group Limited
Panel Two: The Collaborative Ascent: Building the Low-Altitude Economy of the GBA Realising a scalable, safe and commercially viable low‑altitude economy requires coordinated action across sectors. This session will emphasise the necessity of cross‑industry collaboration – from logistics and telecommunications to energy, surveying and tourism – and explore models for shared infrastructure, interoperable systems and aligned regulatory frameworks. Framed as a call to action, the discussion will identify practical mechanisms for public–private cooperation to accelerate deployment, build public confidence and unlock the region’s full economic potential. Speakers: – Ir Carmen Chu, Chairperson, Transport Policy Committee – Mr Richard Fung, Director, Fruit Design and Build Limited – Mr Edward Sung, Senior Manager – Solution Planning and Business Analysis, Enterprise Market, HTHK – Ir Y.K. Leung, Managing Director, Linken Capital Aviation Services Limited Moderator: – Gloria Lee, CEO of Ascendo Group Limited
Session Two
