Robert Walters and Walters People, the world-leading specialist professional recruiter brands under the Robert Walters Group, this week launched their first-ever fully digital Salary Survey 2021, which highlighted that the job market in Hong Kong is being driven by technology as the pace of digital transformation is accelerated across sectors in the wake of COVID-19.
The new interactive platform provides localised and global insights from hiring markets across 31 countries to help guide employers and candidates on salaries. This year’s insights highlight that the overall hiring market in Hong Kong is becoming more conservative, while demand for talent with specialist skills in the technology and innovation sector remains high in Greater China. ?
The Hong Kong job market has faced several uncertainties and upheavals in 2020 which will continue to impact the market in 2021. Key findings show that around 70% of professionals intend to look for new jobs across sectors and employers are mostly looking to hire candidates with niche skillsets, soft skills and a strategic mindset. In the current environment, the demand for job security is high and only 40% of professional are expecting a pay rise in 2021. The survey also reveals 62% of managers and over 57% of directors to executive levels are likely to receive a bonus in 2021. ?
